This set of five lotus leaf dishes by Shigeyoshi Morioka is hand-formed in a multi-chamber wood kiln, using unglazed nanban firing. Each dish is slightly different in contour and color—from soft clay red to deep iron black—with visible carved veins and smoky firemarks that bloom at the center.
