This hand-carved goblet carries a quiet sense of movement, its bowl wrapped in flowing feather-like lines that rise gently along the rounded form. The deep, rhythmic carving creates a tactile surface that feels grounded yet refined in the hand. Resting on a sculptural stem with matching motifs, the piece stands with a steadfast, sculptural presence, making it suited for small daily rituals—tea, wine, or simply as a vessel of stillness on the table.
The Gathered Drift collection draws from the 11th-century Cizhou scrolls, with the carving flowing like wind-worn stones. Each piece is designed to evoke the natural rhythms of earth and water, with soft yet deep hand-carved patterns and a white glaze that reflects the serenity of the passing seasons. Fired at 1260°C, these pieces capture the quiet power of nature, turning ancient traditions into modern expressions of craftsmanship.
NANYI Studio was founded by Ye Yu (叶宇), who was inspired by the ancient ceramic traditions of Jingdezhen(景德镇) and the surrounding regions. The studio’s work focuses on hand-thrown and hand-carved ceramics, blending ancient craftsmanship with modern design. Through original creations, NANYI brings timeless ceramic traditions into contemporary living spaces, offering objects that evoke both heritage and modernity. Every piece is fired at 1260°C, ensuring strength, beauty, and tactile depth, with each creation telling a story of patience, care, and devotion to craft.
