We’re Luo Zhongtong and Chen Qi — partners in life and in craft, from Xinyang, Henan. Together we founded TriFire Studio, named for the fires that keep us alive — the kiln we tend, the sun and the moon we follow, and the small flame of hope we share. Chen Qi mixes the glazes and controls the firing; I, Zhongtong, hand-color and carve each piece. We design together — our ideas often collide, shift, and merge in the process, until earth, color, and rhythm find their balance. Every vessel takes hours, touched by patience and breath, fired at 1240°C where clay and fire meet. Our inspiration comes from the Yangshao culture — its ancient pottery, its quiet rhythm. We don’t copy history; we let it live again in modern life. That spirit flows through our main series: Earthen Floral, Shadow Floral, and Ancient Fruit. What matters most to us isn’t awards or shows, but when someone holds one of our works and feels that calm, handmade warmth — like a small fire glowing in their everyday life.

Into the gate of Heart of Asia
Chinese craftsmanship gave birth to the aesthetic language that shaped all of East Asia. From ceramics and silk to lacquer and ink, it developed a way of seeing—one that values atmosphere over precision, rhythm over symmetry, and the quiet suggestion of form over direct representation.
The Philosophy
In the Chinese pursuit of yi jing—a poetic balance of space, light, and material—beauty lives not in precision, but in suggestion. Much like Monet’s dissolving light, artisans let the world soften at its edges, allowing the unseen to shape what is felt.
