A hand-painted ceramic scented candle featuring the Ancient Fruit circular motif. The vessel is shaped in the style of early Chinese pottery and left unglazed, allowing the raw clay to show its dry, textured surface. Natural wax is poured directly inside, giving the piece a warm, rustic presence that can continue as a small decorative holder after the candle is finished.
The Ancient Fruit collection draws inspiration from the fruit-and-dot motifs of the Yangshao culture, reviving the simplicity and quiet beauty found in early Chinese earthenware. The patterns are painted by hand onto unglazed clay, letting the grainy, unrefined texture remain visible and true to its material nature. The earthy tones and rhythmic geometric motifs honor timeless traditions while offering a grounded, contemporary presence in daily life.
Crafted by the hands of artisans Luo Zhongtong and Chen Qi, TriFire Studio is dedicated to preserving and reinterpreting the ancient ceramic traditions of China. Every piece is hand-thrown and finished without glaze, created with deep respect for the materials and the history of Chinese pottery. The 1240°C high-temperature firing strengthens the clay while keeping its natural texture, allowing each object to enter daily life with a quiet, enduring presence.

Trifire Studio
Each piece is hand-carved and colored in Jingdezhen, shaped from dark or pale clay mixed and refined in the studio. The patterns come from ancient Yangshao pottery—simple curves and flowing lines once drawn on earth-toned vessels. Fired at 1240 °C, the clay becomes dense and clear in tone, its surface holding both the mark of the tool and the calm of the fire. TriFire’s work carries the still rhythm of old craftsmanship, quiet yet alive.
Material & Firing
riFire pieces are formed from a mix of zisha, black, and white clays, each chosen for its natural tone and weight. After shaping, the surface is painted with underglaze colors and coated in a custom silky glaze developed in Jingdezhen. Every line is carved by hand before firing at 1240 °C, where the glaze settles into a quiet sheen and the clay becomes dense and lasting. Beneath the surface remain the faint traces of carving — marks of time, left by steady hands and heat.

TriFire’s forms grow from the rhythm of two people working together. Each piece begins as a shared idea, shaped slowly until the lines feel calm and right. The patterns come from ancient Yangshao pottery, reimagined through simple shapes and quiet balance. What matters is not decoration but honesty — clay that shows its weight, color that holds the trace of hand. Their work is an everyday practice of care, where making and living are not separate things.

Three Fires and a Shared Rhythm
Formed by partners Luo Zhongtong and Chen Qi, TriFire grew from a shared life and a shared kiln. Their work follows the same quiet rhythm — two hands shaping clay through patience, trust, and time.
The studio’s name comes from the fires that sustain them: the kiln they tend each day, the sun and moon that guide their time, and the small flame that connects them. Working in Jingdezhen, they use black, white, and zisha clays, carved and hand-colored under silky glaze and underglaze painting. Each piece is fired at 1240 °C, where glaze softens and clay steadies into form.
Their inspiration reaches back to the painted pottery of the Yangshao culture — ancient lines once drawn to honor earth and sky. In TriFire’s hands, those patterns return with calm strength and modern clarity. What they create is quiet but alive, carrying the warmth of two makers and the memory of fire.
