WhaleSong Studio’s hand-carved large mug with lid featuring penguins moving through layered waves and fish motifs, their forms wrapping the cup in a slow, continuous motion. The lid completes the scene above, creating a sense of enclosure and warmth, as if the moment of drinking is gently held in place.
The work is handmade in Jingdezhen, China, designed and formed using local clay and mineral pigments. Fired at 1260 °C, it is durable and food-safe. Each piece is made to order, requiring approximately 2–3 weeks of production, with an additional 2 weeks for overseas shipping.
We do not recommend using knives or forks directly on the surface, as the carved textures and fine details are delicate.
