This handleless ceramic cup is covered with stylized magpies, feather-like forms, leaves, and circular motifs carved across a deep black surface. Coral orange, teal, and soft grey accents break through the dense pale lines, giving the piece a lively rhythm without making it feel crowded. The birds appear woven into the surrounding growth, as though branches, feathers, and movement have all become part of the same forest.
Every EBMing piece begins with an original design, with the carving, coloring, and finishing all completed by hand. The studio does not copy nature exactly, but reshapes familiar plants and living forms into patterns with their own rhythm and character. Each piece is fired at 1240°C, preserving the depth of the carved lines, the richness of the hand-applied color, and the subtle variations that make every piece slightly different.
