This handleless ceramic cup is filled with stylized magpies, broad leaves, flowers, and layered feather-like forms. Coral orange, teal, and pale grey accents move through the dense black-and-ivory carving, giving the surface a sense of constant motion. Some birds appear clearly, while others seem partly hidden by the surrounding growth, as if the cup holds a small thicket where every branch and feather overlaps.
Every EBMing piece begins with an original design, with the carving, coloring, and finishing all completed by hand. The studio does not copy nature exactly, but reshapes familiar plants and living forms into patterns with their own rhythm and character. Each piece is fired at 1240°C, preserving the depth of the carved lines, the richness of the hand-applied color, and the subtle variations that make every piece slightly different.
