This hand-shaped ceramic tray features a full-bodied owl framed within an irregular rectangular form. Its rounded face, folded wings, and layered plumage are built from dense black-and-ivory carving, with each section of the feathers given a different rhythm and texture. The owl fills almost the entire surface, giving the piece a still, watchful presence while the softly uneven rim keeps the form relaxed and distinctly handmade.
Every EBMing piece begins with an original design, with the carving, coloring, and finishing completed entirely by hand. Each piece is fired at 1240°C, preserving the depth of the carved surface and the subtle variations that naturally come from handwork.
