This handleless ceramic cup features a large whale moving through layered waves and flowing water. The black-and-ivory palette gives the piece a strong graphic quality, while the carved lines create a steady sense of motion across the surface. The whale’s broad form sits calmly within the surrounding waves, giving the cup a quiet but powerful presence.
Every EBMing piece begins with an original design, with the carving, coloring, and finishing all completed by hand. Each piece is fired at 1240°C, preserving the depth of the carved lines, the character of the hand-applied color, and the subtle variations that come with handcraft.

Form & Aesthetics
I have always been inspired by the small lives around us—birds among branches, butterflies passing through flowers, and animals moving through worlds we often overlook. Rather than recreating them exactly as they appear in nature, I capture their impressions through simplified forms, hand-carved lines, and imagined colors, giving each piece its own character and feeling.
For me, clay is a way to preserve these moments of connection with nature. Every mark left by the hand and every unique shape gives the work a sense of life and warmth. Through EBMing Studio, I hope to create objects that bring curiosity, joy, and a closer appreciation of the beautiful lives that surround us.
